In addition:
We assess and reduce the risk in the business of modern slavery practices occurring by checking the authenticity of papers proving a right to work in the UK;
We have procurement policies that ensure our supply chain is scrutinised for compliance and the consequences of non-compliance are clear and actioned;
We provide information to staff on the warning signs that might indicate that modern slavery is taking place;
We promote to staff the importance of raising immediately any concerns they may have; and
We protect staff who are ‘whistle blowers’ in respect of concerns they have about modern slavery
Due diligence and risk assessment
To help identify and monitor the risk of slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain, our suppliers are all subject to approval including Product Quality, Line of Credit, Financial Checks, and Ethical Business Practices. We review these commercial relationships annually, in part to understand the context in which their business operates.
If a supplier were found to be involved in slavery or human trafficking, then that supplier would immediately be placed on stop.
We only employ agency workers through reputable employment agencies that adhere to our anti-slavery and human trafficking policy.
Training
To ensure an appropriate level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we are considering the appropriateness of training to certain management levels of our staff and further developing our supplier due diligence.
This voluntary slavery and human trafficking statement is made in connection with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
